ABOUT US

Bateaux FC is a volunteer-run soccer club based in Eau Claire, WI. The city is positioned on the confluence of the Chippewa River and the Eau Claire River.

The name "Bateaux" (bah-toe) is a French word meaning "boats." In Eau Claire's origins, during the height of the timber industry in the Chippewa Valley, bateaux were used to transport lumber downstream to the sawmills that dotted the riverbanks. Like those unmanned vessels, our aim is to transport soccer from our community to the rest of Eau Claire.

Bateaux FC is a current and founding member of the Wisconsin Primary Amateur Soccer League (WPASL), founded in 2019. WPASL is a USASA and WSL sanctioned amateur soccer league operating out of Western Wisconsin.

Bateaux FC formed as Eau Claire Heat FC in 2019. The groundwork had been laid through city's recreational leagues, open play pickup sessions, and the former Eau Claire (now La Crosse-based) Aris SC. In January 2020, we rebranded to become Bateaux FC. Later that year, we won our fist WPASL Primary Cup.

We repeated as WPASL Champions in 2021 and 2022. The board voted to join United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) in 2023.
